Our Forest and Ocean hike is a passage through time with 3- days guided hike and 4-night accommodation. Rates include beautifull well appointed accommodation and all meals.

The ocean west of Mossel Bay offers a breathtaking experience for nature enthusiasts. Starting from the cliffs of the St Blaize trail, adventurers can embark on a 13.5 km hike that promises spectacular views of the coastline and the opportunity to spot diverse birdlife. Further along, the pools at Fransmanshoek provide a serene spot for relaxation and reflection, set against the backdrop of striking orange-colored rocky formations and a rich history marked by the shipwreck of La Fortune in the 18th century. Completing this journey, the forest at Wilderness, part of the Garden Route National Park, invites visitors to immerse themselves in an ecosystem of rivers, lagoons, and indigenous forests, offering peaceful hikes and the chance to encounter the vibrant Knysna turaco among other wildlife. This route is not just a journey through nature, but a passage through time and the many wonders of the South African landscape.

You walk just carrying your daypack.

Day 1. 

• Dinner and a good rest before the hike commences
• Arrive and book in at 14:00 at your accommodation. A pin and address will be provided. All 4- days accommodation will be in the same place.
• Meet and greet. 
• Meet you guide. 
• The guide will discuss with you the trail days and  what to wear and what to expect during the sessions. He will gladly answer any questions that you may have with pleasure. 
  
• You will have dinner at 19:00.
• All meals are catered for by our chefs or restaurants  who take great pride in their catering. 

Day 2. 13,5 km

• St Blaize trail
• 07:00 breakfast
• 08:00 Transfer to the start of the St Blaize Trail at the cave at The Point in Mossel bay.
• Lunch packs en route 
• Start meandering the St Blaize trail.
• Transport back to your accommodation. 
• Afternoon at leisure.
• Dinner at 19:00
• Overnight at your accommodation

The St. Blaize Trail follows a 30 to 50 metre contour along the cliffs from the St Blaize lighthouse and ending at Dana bay. Towards the end of the trail, you’ll find the Pinnacle Point Golf Course.The trail offers dramatic sea views, excellent whale and dolphin watching, and has some trail dassies for company.  This is an excellent day to see bird life, reptiles, ocean views and beautifull flora.

Day 3. 10 km

• Vleesbaai circular route via Fransmanshoek
• 07:00 breakfast
• 08:00 transfer to Vleesbaai, the start of the trail. 
• Arrive at Fransmanshoek, a small nature reserve, featuring striking red coloured, craggy rocks, abundant bird life and beautiful veld flowers. Historically the ship La Fortuné was wrecked here en-route from Mauritius to France with 410 men on board in 1763. The crew survived and one of the cannons of the ship can be viewed at Fransmanshoek
  
• Enjoy lunch at Fransmanshoek. 
• Continue your hike back to Vleesbaai. 
• Transfer back to your accommodation where you can spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure
• 19:00 Dinner
• Overnight at your accommdation.
